Travelers looking to take a train ride past some of America’s most beautiful scenery in comfort and privacy can now do so for a fraction of the price with Amtrak’s roomette sale.

Amtrak is offering a two-for-one-deal on its roomettes — private rooms with their own large panoramic windows, sleeping accommodations, and a range of amenities.

The roomettes are ideal for travelers heading on a trip with friends and family and for couples looking to take a scenic ride in the winter and spring thanks to features that include their own sliding doors, two seats that face one another and convert to a bed in the evening, and a bunk bed that folds down from the ceiling.

Roomettes also come with fresh linen and towel service, complimentary bottled water, and access to the Amtrak Metropolitan lounges that come stocked with complimentary snacks and drinks, showers, Wi-Fi, and work areas at select stations.

The biggest perk might be that sit-down meals are included for guests staying in any of Amtrak’s Sleeper Service accommodations, which includes roommettes.

For additional comfort, roomette passengers have a dedicated attendant who will book meal reservations, make and take down beds, assist travelers with their luggage, and even share insider stories of life on the rails.

The deals for the roomettes are available on the California Zephyr, Capitol Limited, Cardinal, City of New Orleans, Coast Starlight, Crescent, Empire Builder, Lake Shore Limited, Silver Service, Southwest Chief, Sunset Limited, and the Texas Eagle.

Views passengers can enjoy range from the Pacific Northwest coast on the Coast Starlight to the snow-dotted caps of Mount Hood, Glacier National Park, and the Mississippi on the Empire Builder.

No blackout dates apply for roomette bookings. Companions are required to stay in the same room for the deal to apply.
